ISIS and the Syrian War: a Panel Discussion

Who are ISIS? Where did they come from? How do we combat them? 

The panel will cover these topics and more, with discussion covering both theology and international relations.

Speakers include:

Dr Carool Kersten, KCL - an historian of Islam, founder of the British Association for Islamic Studies, and author of several books including "Islam in Indonesia: The Contest for Society, Ideas and Values" and "Alternative Islamic Discourses and Religious Authority". 

Dr Daniel Nilsson DeHanas, Chatham House - Lecturer of Political Science and Religion at KCL

Dr Hayder al Khoei, Chatham House - Associate fellow in the Middle East and North Africa Programme at Chatham House

And a former government minister with 10 years of experience dealing with Syria, who will be announced at the event!
