The Oxford Forum

The Oxford Forum is a student run organisation which encourages discourse and debate within Oxford, allowing students to engage with a diverse range of issues.

The Executive Committee

President - Tristan Wang

"I am a third-year undergraduate studying law at St Hugh’s. I have been involved with the Forum for over a year. Prior to my current role, I had acted as Secretary for one term and Internet Officer for two terms. Outside of my role at the Forum, I am usually seen cycling to and from the Oxford ice rink around midnight to play ice hockey.

Treasurer - William Prescott

Will is a third-year DPhil student at Univ. Originally from Adelaide, Australia, he moved to the UK for his doctorate on the interwar British Conservative Party. Since arriving in Oxford, he has passed his time by sitting on too many committees (including as the Forum Treasurer and as the VP of the Univ MCR) and travelling around the country on debating tournaments. On occasion he even works on his thesis.

Director of Communications & IT Officer - Ali Arsalan Pasha Siddiqui

I’m Ali and I’m a postgraduate researcher focusing on South Asia; particularly foreign policy and geopolitics. I am also a member of the GPC at Wolfson College and Associate Editor for The Mays. I will be co-chairing the Free Speech Debate this term at the Oxford Forum, an extremely relevant debate. Apart from politics and studies, I love singing, writing and the Oxford Union.

Deputy President - Arya Tandon

Hey, I'm Arya, a 2nd year PPEist at Hertford, and I'm Vice President of The Oxford Forum! The Forum has some great events in store for this term, so I'm really looking forward to being a part of making them a success. Besides the Forum, I've been spending my time hacking my way through things like PPE Soc, OxStu and the Labour Club, a transferable skill which will hopefully help me to contribute to the Forum in an (at least) vaguely competent way.

Secretary - Phoebe Toyne-Bridges

I am 3rd year Law student at Exeter College. Having attended a lot of excellent forum events I decided to get involved as Secretary. This term I am chairing a Brexit Panel for 27th February and am looking forward to being on the other side of the room for a change! When not on committees and struggling through my degree, I enjoy choir, polo and swimming.
